What is montopolis bridge?

Montopolis Bridge is a historic steel truss bridge located in Austin, Texas, USA. It spans the Colorado River and connects Montopolis neighborhood in East Austin to Southeast Austin. The bridge was built in 1938 and was designed by the Austin Bridge Company and engineer C.H. Horton. The bridge is 1,636 feet long and 79 feet high and was the first highway bridge to be built across the Colorado River in Austin. It served as an important transportation link for many years until it was replaced by a new bridge in 1989. Today, the Montopolis Bridge is preserved as a historic landmark and is used for pedestrian and bicycle traffic. It offers a scenic view of downtown Austin and the Colorado River.
